2023 Summer Tour Schedule

I know, I know, it’s 2023, but if you want to take a tour with us, you’ll have to come in to the store or call us to schedule it. But there’s a good reason we like to actually talk to our guests as you book your adventure with us. Our groups are small, which allows us to better ensure safety, promote a wild experience, and keep our impact minimal on everything except your memories. With our small groups, we want to know a little about YOU, what you’re looking for, and definitely what gear we need to get ready for you, whether wetsuits for a paddle on Lake Superior or lunches for a full day Boundary Waters trip. Learn more about our summer tours, including pricing, here.

With what we do, the weather is always in charge. However, based on our summer staffing, we have set the following schedule we will be generally following, with a few specific exceptions. We recommend scheduling your tour a week or two ahead of time to ensure availability, although if you are willing to be flexible, we do our best to accommodate walk-ins.

  • Sundays - no tours offered

  • Mondays - three hour paddling tours offered in the mornings at 10am and in the afternoons at 2pm

  • Tuesdays - morning kayak paddling tours offered at 10am and afternoon hiking tours offered at 2pm

  • Wednesdays - full day canoe tours offered

  • Thursdays - three hour kayak paddling tours offered in the mornings at 10am and in the afternoons at 2pm *these afternoons will go to inland lakes, making them appropriate for children under the age of 14

  • Fridays - full day canoe tours offered

  • Saturdays - three hour kayak paddling tours offered in the mornings at 10am and in the afternoons at 2pm

Some exceptions: Our 2023 North Shore Water Festival is, as always, the third weekend of July. On Friday, July 14, we will offer half days kayak tours, but on Saturday, we’ll have all our watercraft, some of our guides, and some of our paddlesports industry reps in Harbor Park where we will offer free mini kayak or SUP tours in the harbor. Look for more information on that fun weekend soon!

Fisherman’s Picnic is, as always, the first weekend of August. On Friday, August 4th, we will offer half day kayak tours instead of the full day option.

*While this schedule is what we think will work for most of the summer, it is subject to change.

*Your space is reserved with full payment. A refund of price paid minus a $12 processing fee will be given upon cancellation with at least two day’s notice. Some weather conditions (wind, waves or fog) may require a Lake Superior tour to be rerouted to an inland lake. We will always choose the best location for the conditions of the day and the group. If the weather requires a trip to be cancelled, we will provide a full refund.

Tour pricing is per person for the selected tour that starts from the time indicated. Please be sure to arrive 15-20 minutes early to review your reservation and complete additional paperwork.
