Choose between these two winter clinics, or attend them both. Each will be offered at 2:00 pm and again at 3:30 pm.
Come learn how to best take care of your Nordic skis for their longevity and your best performance. You’ll learn about the differences between kick wax and glide wax, and when, where, and how to apply them. This clinic is focused on all kinds of cross country skiing and skis, including skate and classic, and fishscale, skin, or waxable skis. There is applicability to alpine skis, although that isn’t the focus.
You do not need to bring your skis to this clinic.
Come learn about how to really embrace winter. This clinic will have two parts, so if you’re only interested in the first half, there will be a chance to leave early.
Part 1: You’ll learn about how to dress for various winter activities, including snowshoeing and cross country skiing. We’ll start with looking at base layers, from wool, to blends, to synthetics. Next will come mid layers. Finally, we’ll look at outer layer examples and the differences in insulation materials.
Part 2: If you’ve ever been curious about winter camping, this is a great opportunity to learn more. We’ll talk about the different options in tents, and how cold camping is different than hot camping. Examples of both kinds of tents will be set up to look at. You’ll learn about wood burning stoves for canvas tents, and what equipment makes winter camping more enjoyable. Some minor tweaks in your sleep system and cooking system can open up a whole new world of winter outdoor enjoyment.
