All of our staff, regardless of their position type, are eligible to participate in our training and certification opportunities. We’ve sent team members to industry events and conferences to support their personal and professional goals. If there’s something specific you’re looking for, just ask!
Our part-time and full-time staff receive paid time off and sick leave. Regular full-time staff receive additional benefits. All staff gain access to pro deals, free use of rental equipment and staff discounts.
Pay rate depends on availability, skills, experience, and goals.

Gain experience in three key aspects of the outdoor industry: Retail, Rentals and Guiding.
Stone Harbor offers a unique opportunity to explore what it’s like in the outdoor industry. Whether you’re a high schooler looking for your first job, a college student looking to gain real-world experience, or a seasoned professional looking for your next gig you can check out:
Retail: Learn the technical specifications about outdoor clothing and equipment. Discover how different materials and manufacturing strategies produce varied results, creating gear that is catered to its intended use.
Rentals: Connect with industry standards to properly size equipment for customers based on their experience and goals. Take advantage of free staff rentals so you can gain hands-on knowledge of how the gear works.
Guiding: Gain experience as a tour guide for hiking, canoeing, fishing and/or kayaking. Help us revive our climbing tours. Receive paid certifications that will enhance your resume. Have fun sharing the North Shore with our guests!
Our summer season operates from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day.
May 25th - September 2nd, 2024
NOLS Wilderness First Aid training is scheduled for May 11th - May 12th, 2024.
American Canoe Association kayak and SUP certification dates are May 21st - May 23rd, 2024.
Priority is given to applicants that can commit to the entire summer season, though we encourage those with limited availability to apply.
